Be sure to do every Grand Company quest as they come up as well. The quest will can be picked up at the Grand Company you've chosen. This is a blue quest that unlocks after you have gone to each of the three major cities and chosen a Grand Company to align yourself with. The quest you are going to want to look out for is a Level 20 quest named My Little Chocobo.
You will want to keep up with MSQ perpetually throughout your time with Final Fantasy XIV as they unlock essentially the entire game. These are referred to as MSQ by much of the community, and it will be called such through the rest of this guide.
